Wings 'n Things started on Fulton Avenue in Hempstead in 1988 with one mission: make the best fried chicken on Long Island. More than 35 years later, nothing has changed.
Hempstead, 1988
Wings 'n Things opened on Fulton Avenue in 1988 — no franchise playbook, no shortcuts. Just a family recipe and a belief that Long Island deserved great fried chicken.
The food, then and now
Every piece of chicken is hand-breaded and made to order — never sitting under a heat lamp. The ribs fall off the bone, and the cornbread is made from scratch, always.
A second home in Elmont
In 2016, we opened on Dutch Broadway in Elmont — bringing the same recipes to families who'd been making the trip to Hempstead for years. Same kitchen standards, new neighborhood.
Three generations of regulars
The people who grew up eating here are now bringing their own kids. Wings 'n Things has catered birthday parties, graduations, and block gatherings across Long Island for decades.
Still family, still from scratch
After 35-plus years, Wings 'n Things is still family-owned across both locations — no investors, no corporate standards. The same care that went into the first basket in 1988 goes into every order today.
